Titans of the Sea

New Body of Work from Lisa Cueman
Lisa Cueman will give a talk at 6pm

The Camargue horse is an ancient breed of horse indigenous to the Camargue area in southern France. Its origins remain relatively unknown, although it is generally considered one of the oldest breeds of horses in the world.

“I am very excited to be releasing a few images from my new body of work called “Titans of the Sea”from the Camargue region in the south of France. Two years in the making, I have been contemplating and experimenting with the right esthetic that captures and conveys all that photographing these durable horses means to me. Like so much in Europe, these horses are steeped in centuries of tradition beginning with the breeding bloodlines, to the early years being wild in the salt marshes, to the final transformation into dependable and sweet dispositioned work horses. It has truly been an amazing discovery and I am thrilled to present the beginnings of my new work showcasing a look and feel that I feel conveys the beauty of these unique horses and the celebrated region.”
